Pay Rate: Up to $18/hour
Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Medical Receptionist to support front-office operations at a busy outpatient specialty clinic . The ideal candidate will bring strong customer service skills, prior healthcare clinic experience, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. Reliable transportation and commute awareness are required.
Required QualificationsMinimum 1 year of recent experience (within the last 3 years) in a healthcare clinic setting
Acceptable backgrounds: Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Urgent Care
Psych/Mental Health experience does not qualify
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent (verifiable)
Knowledge of insurance authorization and billing processes
Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
Proficient computer skills
Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Professional demeanor and strong work ethic
Perform patient check-in and ensure accurate completion of registration paperwork
Answer and route incoming phone calls appropriately
Schedule patient appointments according to office guidelines
Verify patient demographics and insurance information; collect copays and deductibles
Scan and upload documentation (IDs, referrals, insurance cards) into the EMR
Prepare patient charts prior to appointments
Complete patient check-out tasks, including payment collection and follow-up scheduling
Confirm upcoming appointments and communicate documentation and payment requirements
Follow up on missed appointments per clinic policy
Support filing, record retrieval, and EMR documentation
Perform additional duties as assigned
