Summary:

• We are seeking an experienced Snowflake Python ETL Engineer for a contract role to support a healthcare data modernization initiative.
• The engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing end-to-end ETL/ELT data pipelines on the Snowflake cloud data platform.
• This role focuses on integrating large-scale healthcare datasets including claims, clinical, and operational data while ensuring data quality, performance, security, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Python, SQL, and Snowflake
• Ingest and transform healthcare data from multiple source systems into Snowflake
• Optimize Snowflake performance using clustering, query tuning, and cost-efficient compute usage
• Implement data validation, reconciliation, and quality checks
• Collaborate with data analysts, architects, and business teams to support reporting and analytics needs
• Ensure compliance with healthcare data standards and security requirements (HIPAA)
• Document data pipelines, workflows, and technical solutions

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong experience with Snowflake architecture and development
• Hands-on Python experience for ETL/ELT and data processing
• Advanced SQL skills and data modeling experience
• Experience working with healthcare data (Claims, EHR, HL7/FHIR preferred)
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP)
• Experience with scheduling/orchestration tools (Airflow or similar is a plus)
