Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Epicor Prophet 21 (P21) Architect to serve as a senior technical leader supporting ongoing system enhancements, new customizations, and enterprise integrations. This is a long-term contract engagement (6+ months) with the strong potential to convert to a direct hire role based on performance and business needs.

This role will act as a strategic and hands-on resource, working closely with business stakeholders, IT leadership, and third-party partners to ensure the Prophet 21 environment remains scalable, stable, and aligned with evolving business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical architect and subject matter expert for Epicor Prophet 21.

• Design, develop, and support customizations, enhancements, and extensions within the P21 environment.

• Lead and maintain integrations between P21 and external systems (eCommerce, WMS, TMS, CRM, EDI, 3PL, financial platforms, etc.).

• Support and optimize existing P21 custom code, reporting, and integrations.

• Provide architectural guidance on best practices, performance tuning, and system scalability.

• Partner with functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

• Troubleshoot complex system issues and provide root cause analysis and resolution.

• Assist with upgrades, patches, and testing efforts as needed.

• Create and maintain technical documentation related to architecture, integrations, and custom solutions.

• Collaborate with vendors and offshore/onshore development teams when applicable.

• Travel within the U.S. as needed for project work, workshops, or key stakeholder meetings.

Required Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience with Epicor Prophet 21 (P21) in an architect, senior developer, or technical lead capacity.

• Strong experience with P21 customizations , APIs, business rules, and system extensions.

• Proven expertise designing and supporting system integrations involving P21.

• Solid understanding of SQL Server , database architecture, and performance optimization.

• Experience supporting distribution or wholesale business environments is strongly preferred.

• Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively across technical and business teams.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with P21 upgrades, cloud environments, or modernization initiatives.

• Background working in contract-to-hire or long-term consulting roles.

• Familiarity with reporting tools and data extraction from P21.

• Prior experience in an enterprise, multi-location distribution environment.

• Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship , now or in the future.

• Must be able to travel within the U.S. as needed .

• This is a remote role with occasional on-site travel.
