GME programs on the hospital campus currently include general surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, internal medicine and transitional year. AdventHealth Tampa is home to the renowned AdventHealth Pepin Heart Institute, a recognized leader in cardiovascular disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment and leading-edge research caring for Tampa Bays hearts for over 35 years. The Kiran C. Patel Research Institute, also located at AdventHealth Tampa, leads the way in clinical and academic research in the areas of neuroscience, cardiovascular medicine, advanced surgery and more contributing valuable knowledge that leads to tomorrows cures for conditions such as heart failure, cancer and other diseases. **The role you'll contribute:** Performs echocardiography examinations by departmental policy in accordance to the standards outlined by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) and the American Society of Echocardiography. Ensures quality performance of echocardiography examinations adhering to the quality assurance/improvement program by departmental policy in accordance with Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) standards. Performs at a high technical level, a variety of cardiovascular ultrasound procedures on neonatal through gerontologic patients. Has the latitude for independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative. Assists physicians. Selects practical applications and technical factors. Is knowledgeable in and carries out all applicable processes of the department. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures. Teaches and directs the work of other staff and students as required. Performs additional duties as requested. Performs, properly documents and reports all procedures in accordance with departmental policy and standards. Performs comprehensive adult echocardiography. Performs comprehensive pediatric echocardiography (If applicable to facility). Performs comprehensive (physician driven) adult transesophageal echocardiography. Participates in Quality assurance/improvement for IAC **.** Manages time and equipment effectively and works as a team member to provide effective and efficient workflow Qualifications **The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:** High School Required. Graduate of a two-year Cardiovascular Ultrasound program Required **.** 2 experience in adult echocardiography, including transesophageal echocardiography and stress echocardiography Required. RDCS - Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Required. RCS - Registered Cardiac Sonographer Required. Registered in appropriate modality. (RDCS or RCS) Required. The position also requires RDCS or RCS with 2 year's experience, pediatric echo is preferred. Pediatric echo competency will be required within the 6-12 months of hire.
